Dubai golden visas for teachers pass 835 applications: what 10 year residency does to renting and buying
The Government of Dubai Media Office reported on 5 October 2026, to mark World Teachers' Day, that more than 835 educators have applied for a Dubai golden visa since the scheme opened.
The visa lasts 10 years and is not tied to a single employer. It runs under directives from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and is assessed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority under the Education 33 strategy.
It covers staff at private early childhood centres, private schools and international higher education institutions in Dubai. Applicants are assessed on academic qualifications, a record of improving teaching quality and student results, contributions to education and the community, and feedback from parents and students.
In the first round, 223 of 435 applicants were approved, most from schools.
