Dubai completed 104 projects worth AED 111 billion in the first half of 2026, up 52%: what the handover wave means for buyers and tenants

Dubai Land Department reported on 14 October 2026 that 104 real estate projects were completed in the first half of the year, with a combined value of more than AED 111 billion. That is 52% higher than the same six months of 2025.

The figure was announced at the RISE 2026 summit at Dubai World Trade Centre. Omar Hamad BuShehab, the department's director general, gave the opening address.

At a panel session, Majid Saqr Al Marri, chief executive of the department's corporate support sector, listed the department's current measures: the First Time Home Buyer programme, the Initial Registration platform for developers, the Dubai REST app and the Malik AI assistant. These sit under the D33 economic agenda and the Dubai Real Estate Sector Strategy 2033.

Rents tend to soften before sale prices when a large volume of new stock is handed over, since a tenant can move within sixty days.
