Dubai Municipality restructures 20 permit services: connection point and stormwater folded into building licensing, 4 requests scrapped

Dubai Municipality has restructured 20 permit services under the emirate's Services 360 policy, with the changes published on 20 August 2026. Of these, 13 services were reworked through merging, converting or discontinuing them, while 7 were transferred to the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority.

Connection point and stormwater drainage requests are now filed as part of the building licensing service, along with permits for work in historic districts and permits for advertising structures. Residential land allocation requests now go to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. Agricultural activity permits are now instant approvals issued inside commercial licensing.

Four services were discontinued: technical reports on plots and buildings, structural assessment requests from government entities, attestation of certificates of conformity, and specialised training run by Dubai Central Laboratory.

The seven services moved to the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority include well drilling and groundwater permits, industrial and development environmental permits, marine data requests, agricultural soil permits, recreational fishing permits, and nature reserve no objection certificates.
