Dubai marina berths in 2026: 8,415 registered boats compete for 4,214 spots across 20 marinas

The Dubai Maritime Authority reported on 7 September 2026 that 8,415 marine craft are now registered in Dubai, owned by people from 116 countries. British nationals form the largest ownership group. The authority also counts more than 14,000 companies operating along the 72 km of coastline it regulates.
The registered fleet breaks down into 3,269 motorised pleasure boats, 2,377 watersports craft, 1,064 tourism vessels, 897 commercial craft serving water sports and 224 marine public transport vessels. Dubai also has 87 floating restaurants, 58 of them wooden, seating about 9,600 diners in total. These restaurants are concentrated in four districts: Dubai Marina, Dubai Creek, Dubai Harbour and Al Jaddaf Waterfront.
The city has 20 marinas offering 4,214 wet berths, meaning roughly two registered boats for every berth. Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, the authority's chief executive, said the regulator will continue developing its licensing and safety framework across the zone, which extends into Dubai's exclusive economic zone.
