Al Mustaqbal Street Bridge Opens 14 August: Dubai World Trade Centre to Za'abeel in 2 Minutes Under the AED 633 Million Upgrade

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority opened a new bridge on Friday 14 August, linking the Dubai World Trade Centre and One Central office cluster to the junction of Al Mustaqbal Street and Za'abeel Palace Street. The bridge is 500 metres long with two lanes. During major exhibitions, the RTA says the drive that once took around 10 minutes now takes 2.

It is the first completed piece of the AED 633 million Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project, which will add 2,000 metres of bridges and tunnels and widen about 3.5 kilometres of Al Mustaqbal Street from three lanes to four in each direction. Once finished, capacity rises 33 percent, from 6,600 to 8,800 vehicles an hour, and the full corridor run falls from 13 minutes to 6.

A second bridge, serving traffic from Sheikh Rashid Road toward 2nd December Street, is due by the end of August. A third, from Al Majlis Street toward 2nd December Street, follows in October. Three tunnels totalling 1,500 metres at the Al Mustaqbal Street and Trade Centre Street intersection, with capacities of 4,500, 3,000 and 1,500 vehicles per hour, are scheduled for February 2027. The RTA estimates about half a million residents and visitors will be affected.
