Al Marabea Street Upgrade Complete: RTA Adds 30% Capacity on the Al Quoz Link Between Al Khail Road and Al Asayel Street

The RTA has finished upgrading Al Marabea' Street, the 1.1 kilometre link between Al Khail Road and Al Asayel Street in Al Quoz. The corridor now carries 30 per cent more traffic, with peak journeys up to 30 per cent quicker. A new lane at the Street 16A junction has halved congestion there, and new lighting now lines the route.

Short as it is, the street is a key connector feeding Al Quoz's warehouses, now increasingly creative and commercial space, onward to Meydan, Business Bay and Downtown. Faster throughput also trims commutes for residents cutting through from Meydan and Nad Al Sheba.

Still to come

A new service road with a pedestrian walkway, plus an extra access point at Al Khail Road, are due by the end of August 2026.

Dubai Luxury Home Sales Hit a Record: 296 Homes Above $10 Million Sold in H1 2026, Led by Dubai Hills Estate and Palm Jumeirah

Dubai's prime market has never opened a year this strongly. Knight Frank counted 296 sales above 10 million dollars in the first half of 2026, worth 5.1 billion dollars and up 16 percent on 2025, the busiest first half on record. The second quarter alone logged 26 deals above 25 million dollars. Where the money went Dubai Hills Estate led with 51 sales, just ahead of Palm Jumeirah on 50 and Palm Jebel Ali on 40, whose villas will not complete before 2028. The trophies included a 114.9 million dollar apartment at Aman Residences and a 152.5 million dollar plot on Naia Island. Yet the wider market cooled, with sales down around 14 percent. UAE Tenant Screening Goes Live: Dubai Landlords Can Now Check a Renter's Credit Score Through UAE PASS

Private landlords in the UAE can now check a prospective tenant's credit history before signing a lease. Etihad Credit Bureau has launched a Tenant Screening service that sends an applicant's credit score directly to a landlord's phone, once the tenant approves the release through UAE PASS. The tool, built with UAE digital government partners, was previewed at GITEX and is now live in the bureau's app, extending a check once reserved for banks to individual landlords. How it works Landlords enter the applicant's Emirates ID in the app and pay a fee via Apple Pay or Google Pay. The tenant is notified in UAE PASS and can approve or reject. No consent means no data, and refused or expired requests are refunded. Approved requests return a single score, not the full credit file, summarising repayment behaviour rather than income.
